For this project, we took a hands-on approach across the board—from graphic design and website development to content consulting and platform integration. The site is built on a fully custom WordPress theme, designed from the ground up using CSS and PHP, layered over our proprietary WordPress template. This setup ensures that the design is not only visually unique but also streamlined for speed, responsiveness, and long-term scalability.

Seamless Content Management with Advanced Custom Fields

To give the client maximum control without added complexity, we used a combination of WCK Custom Post Types and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). These tools allowed us to create flexible content types that could be managed easily by the in-house team. Whether they’re publishing blog posts, showcasing image galleries, or updating events, the interface is intuitive and tailored for non-technical users.

Every content module is structured to adapt quickly to changing needs. We built multiple page templates to handle anything from basic news updates to fully customized landing pages, ensuring the client can evolve their content strategy over time without rewriting code or redesigning layouts.

This level of customization is only possible through a custom WordPress theme approach, which avoids the constraints and bloat that often come with prebuilt themes or page builders. It’s lean, efficient, and built specifically for this organization’s goals.

Integrated with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge for Donations and Events

One of the standout features of this build is its deep integration with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, a platform that powers fundraising and donor management for nonprofits. We connected the website directly to Blackbaud’s systems, enabling the client to manage donations, track event registrations, and sync supporter data without duplication or manual entry.

This integration supports high-volume donations and complex event structures while maintaining a frictionless front-end experience for the user. Whether visitors are donating to a cause or registering for an event, everything is processed smoothly through the website while syncing back to Raiser’s Edge in real-time.

Additionally, we included ecommerce capabilities where needed, allowing event tickets or merchandise to be sold alongside fundraising efforts. This creates a unified digital hub that serves both marketing and operational needs, all within the structure of a custom WordPress theme.
